So I am tackling yet another hubcap. I am addicted to them and I really enjoy the challenge of painting. This hubcap is the first one I will be painting with the car logo on it. It’s a Subaru hubcap and below is my inspiration for painting. The Subaru rally car! I have never painted a car before so this will be a good change and I look forward to trying to capture this car! Check out my other hubcaps here:
On this glorious Saturday, I received new knitting needles and lots of “sweatshirt” yarn. It’s a funny material, but I can’t wait to try and make a sweater out of it. I also plan on starting my last scrimshaw piece doing the silhouette of a crane. And, I am itching to bake some sort of chocolatey dessert. There are just too many things I want to do! Hopefully I have some sort of creative product to post to you all tomorrow. Stay crafty:)
I’m not really sure where this came from, but I was walking through the craft store and saw these cheap, little $1 containers and I thought I could decorate it into something nicer. With is almost being the end of summer, I have a couple of thank you gifts I need to give and this is looking like the perfect box! Only thing is I love chickadees and don’t want to part with it now. That is always my biggest problem – I never want to part with my work!
This little project took me a only a day to complete. I am proud of myself for working that quickly! (I’ll admit, I’m a pretty slow painter/crafter/drawer). Best of all though, it’s Friday! Happy Friday everyone and I hope you have a great start to your weekend:)
It has been a couple of months since I have even picked up my knitting, but I decided to get back into it this morning. I finished my patterned scarf first; which was a project I started about four months ago. It always feels good to complete another project:) Then I started knitting these little leaves experimenting with my different sized needles I just received. They are quick and easy to make and I have already done two! Now I just need to think of a project to incorporate them in because they are pretty cute. Now i am going to do a little advertising for the site I found these knitting patterns on – Ravelry.com. I am still kind of a beginner knitter, so having access to all of these patterns is fantastic. I only just signed up and I am in love with the free patterns they offer! If you’re a knitter, you should definitely check it out. So many projects… so much potential… so little time haha.
And to add to the morning productiveness, I have cleaned, cooked, and baked already. Not too shabby for a Saturday morning! Hope you all have a great start to your weekend.
As a part of this blog, I am aiming to try a bunch of different crafts. Two ideas I have for the near future are making homemade cards as well as bookmarks. I just discovered the amazing potential of the local recycling center: supplies for free! It is encouraged to take what you will use and after this first experience, I will be back for more for sure!
If you have a recycling center near you, check it out! Above is the start of my crafting stash. Hopefully over the next couple weeks I can build up my materials. Time to start getting crafty! Here is a little bit of what I have done so far:
They are nothing special, just starting off simple. I didn’t have a lot of time yesterday, but it was fun:)
